The Challenges

J&M Steel participated in daily coordination meeting with the General Contractor other sub-contractors & conducted daily safety meetings. J&M Steel also coordinated daily with Gem Buildings for steel deliveries.

Our Project Manager worked closely with the contractor & design team to ensure we had the latest approved drawings. We then pass this information onto our field superintendent & foreman’s to be built per plans & specs from these latest approved drawings.

The Steel Erection was started in August 2017 and the last building completed in November 2018.

J&M Steel worked closely with Layton Construction, Dunn and Associates & Gem Buildings to design and maintain the budget & constructability of the buildings.

The work was performed on a very large site. This allowed numerous sub-contractors to work at once. Therefore, the daily coordination of each subs work was critical. J&M Steel coordinated closely with Gem Buildings on the steel deliveries of each building. J&M Steel complied with all the safety regulation on the site. J&M steel worked extra hours to hit turnover dates for each building. This allowed Layton Construction to maintain their overall schedule. The building design was constantly changing during the steel erection. J&M’s project team had to ensure all these design changes were being caught and performed during the steel erection process.
