We’re proud to be recognized year in and year out for our quality work and commitment to safety.
Here are a few of the awards we’ve received over the years.
Associated Builders and Contractors regularly recognizes J&M Steel with their Top Performers awards!
The award recognizes ABC member contractors’ achievements in safety, quality, diversity and project excellence ranked by work hours, with special designations identified. Published as a supplement to Construction Executive magazine, the lists identify the Top 150 Performers, Top 50 Performers with Special Designations and Top 20 Performers by Region.
To be eligible, Top Performers must have demonstrated world-class safety performance by implementing ABC’s STEP safety management system.
The Utah Labor Commission and Associated Builders and Contractors regularly present the Annual Workplace Safety Award for Business and Industry to J&M Steel.
“In recognition for their continuing commitment and dedication to maintain an exemplary health and safety system and for creating a unique business culture of safety behavior for the prevention of injuries and illnesses in the workplace.”
Few contractors earn the Platinum Level of the ABC STEP award. Considering the EMR restrictions, it is very likely the highest award a steel erector can achieve.
“Only those that score the highest and consistently finish among the top among all Utah contractors are eligible to receive awards. J&M Steel has been recognized nationally among those select companies whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National environment.” – Chris Hipwell, President ABC of Utah
“The growing number of high profile mining accidents worldwide, makes a database of compliant contractors and suppliers more valuable to mine operators than ever before. Obvious concerns to ensure the safety and well-being of those on site have taken on greater urgency as government entities such as MSHA institute stiff fines for anyone operating out of compliance. And MSHA has raised the bar in recent years with Criminal Penalties.
In their own words: ‘The Mine Act provides for criminal sanctions against mine operators who willfully violate safety and health standards. MSHA initially investigates possible willful violations; if evidence of such a violation is found, the agency turns its findings over to the Justice Department for prosecution.’
BROWZ can help mining organizations mitigate risk and ensure that contractors and suppliers maintain accurate records and meet not just their own, but also the government’s, strict compliance standards. BROWZ maintains the largest network of mining contractors and suppliers, enabling faster implementation, shared best practices among clients, and improved contractor compliance.”
